Night Hunter 2008

Here's my little music expedition that i call "Night Hunter". It keeps me from getting bored every once in a while. Since i don't own any music equipment, I create all of the music with a program called "Fl Studio XXL" using only my mouse & computer keyboard. It's point and click for days. I just finished a couple of new songs. I thought i would post them up here so that you can get a hint of what I've been up to lately.

Note: For those of you who are into classical music, the song "With Hook of Float" is a cover of Pachelbel's "Canon in D"

Simplicity Series

This series of painting was created as a response to another artists work. His work was influenced by pop-culture and modern industrial shapes, whereas mine is influenced by nature and organic shapes. I used a home-made paintbrush for the background, gesso for the whites, and caulking for the texture.

AU Chemistry Club

I created this logo for Andrews University a few years ago before i was even a graphic design major. Lately I've been seeing a lot of posters around campus that utilize this logo, so i would post it up. I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but "TOOT TOOT!"

The 130 Brush

YES! So the stats are in, the paintbrush i just made is a giant!

Height: 2ft 5in
Width: 6 in
Brush Size: 130 [estimated]
Ingredients: 1 Small piece of wood, 1 Ripped Jean Shirt, 1 Roll of Twine, 1 Stack Of Staples, 1 Bottle Of Glue, 1 Coat of Decorative Paint

This brush will be used for an upcoming 3-part minimalistic series i will be doing called "Organic Chemistry." I guess i will only need it for the background colors, so i don't know if it was actually worth making. I should have just used a mop from the janitor's closet.

I love bright colors, but I've got to branch out sometimes. It almost feels like an underwater scene, but i prefer to think this is something you would see on the moon of some distant planet.

Theme: Things that can eat you. Drew this up while sitting at my favorite coffee diner "Daybreak Cafe". Not sure if these guys could eat a person... but they could definitely do some damage!

Yet again continuing with the cardboard fun. Its nice to simply sit down with no big plan in mind, and just see what you come up with. I like how this wound up in the end. Killer!

Diamond Love

This was my second try at screen printing. You don't even want to know how lame the first one i did was! Yeah... but this came out really clean for being ENTIRELY hand done. I am thinking about buying like 50 or 100 more bandannas and screening this design on all of them, then flipping em for a bit of cash.

Slant Gust

Originally was supposed to be a waterfall. Messed up, so turned it into a gust of wind. Not even close to my original intentions.

Whitefox inspired me to do a little experiment with cardboard and acrylic. Basically I Paint whatever i want, then use an exacto knife to cut out a bit. The end result is only good!

Dripping Panda

Im pretty Stoked about this one! I conceptualized the dripping panda way back in October of 2005. I had planned on making it a stencil and hitting up various locations with a little spray paint. But after i Painted "Dripping Cloud" i decided that my next project would be to paint this piece of goodness. Yeah i realize this might look emo, but I'm convinced that the yellow will overpower that point of view.

This painting totally took a direction of it's own. At first i had planned on painting a white fluffy cloud with a purple boarder raining #'s into a nice little pile on the ground. When i realized how hard it would be to paint a stack of #'s, i decided to make it drip instead.

University Flurries

Class Project: Design a school t-shirt that you would actually wear. Yeah i know i snaked elements from my last design. The last shirt wasn't for class. So i stay up until 7am and i have 9 of these to show for. It took most time but its a learning process and I'm pretty stoked!

Mustache Party

Most of the stuff i design ... i design with my interests in mind. This little number will be screen printed and warn to a little get-together this coming weekend also known as "The Mustache Party. I'm only going to have fun!
